Green Beans with Almonds

The next few recipes you and your family can enjoy for the holidays without feeling any guilt. These will be the perfect dishes to compliment any meals—whether you roast the turkey yourself or you're enjoying your NutriSystem meal. In this recipe, almonds transform ordinary green beans into festive fare.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen green beans
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds
  • Butter spray
Directions:
  1. Simmer or microwave green beans until they're tender, or if you're using frozen beans, prepare according to directions. Do not overcook.
  2. Drain the beans and coat lightly with a few sprays of Butter Spray.
  3. Pour into a serving dish and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Note: Each serving size is a half-cup. The almonds in the recipe replace your margarine or oil serving. Enjoy! Counts as 1 Vegetable Serving; 1 Oil Serving
