Zesty Herb Snack Mix
They say: Our very special combination of herbs and spices gives this snack mix its bold flavor.
I say: The herbs gave it a distinctive flavor. Reminded me of Chex-Mix.
Mushroom Risotto
They say: Vegetarian Italian sausage, mushrooms and enriched rice make our risotto a great tasting, healthy dinner.
I say: I have no idea what Risotto is, but when I first opened it I thought it looked mushy with a slight aroma of curry. However I love mushrooms so I found it tasty. It is a bit on the peppery side so have a glass of water nearby.
Honey Mustard Pretzel Sticks
They say: A tangy honey mustard flavor and the health benefits of 10 grams of protein make this snack oh-so good and good for you!
I say: Not bad. I'm just not a big pretzel fan. The flavoring was just enough and so was the portion size.
Fudge Graham Bar
They say: A perfect on-the-go lunch that combines the great flavors of graham crackers and rich chocolate.
I say: This is about twice the width of a granola bar and has a STRONG chocolaty aroma when opened. Pretty skimpy to have alone for lunch. I treated it as a decadent dessert by smearing peanut butter on it. Yum.
Updated 12/2006 NEW RECIPE! Remember those s'mores you used to eat as a kid-chocolate bars, gooey marshmallows and graham crackers? Now you can recapture that flavor. This sweet, chocolate-coated bar has crispies for added crunch and the creamy decadence of fudgy morsels. With 13 grams of protein, it's the perfect meal-replacement bar. If you liked s'mores, you're going to love the Fudge Graham Bar. Besides, when was the last time you got to eat chocolate for lunch?
Burgundy Sauce and Beef with Rice
They say: You can't help but love our beef strips, mushrooms, wild rice and red bell peppers served in a rich burgundy sauce.
I say: It's been a few months since I've had a beef entrée. I've been sticking to the pasta dishes. When I opened it to vent the smell brought back memories. Why on earth do the beef gravy’s have such thick odors? As usual it tasted much better than it smelled. I don't remember seeing mushrooms, but I did spot a carrot or two.
Amaretto Coffee - Unsweetened, Decaffeinated
They say: Enjoy this creamy delight while you unwind at the end of a hectic day.
I say: Admittedly this tastes better than the Cappuccino Coffee. I'm still not a fan of coffee in general but to be fair I'll give it 4 stars. Though I doubt I'll order it again.
Vegetable Lasagna
They say: A classic entré of ricotta cheese and vegetables wrapped in a delicate pasta shell and surrounded by an Italian red sauce.
I say: A little different from the current Vegetable Lasagna with Meat Sauce. The sauce wasn't as thick, but the ricotta cheese made up for it.

BBQ Fries
They say: Crisp potato sticks seasoned with a savory blend of spices.
I say: A very full bag with a smoky BBQ taste. Not as salty as most brands.
Note: This product is not part of NutriSystem Nourish, the new Glycemic Index program.
Whole Wheat Melba Toast
They say: 2 thin, crisp crackers made from nutritious stone-ground whole wheat flour.
I say: Surprisingly I liked this. I'm not much of a cracker person. It's really thin & tasted great topped with Classic Tuna Salad.
Microwave Popcorn
They say: Buttery-tasting popcorn that pops up fluffy and light in your microwave.
I say: These were really good. It's just like any bag of popcorn on the market. Which means, yes you do end up with that same "Awww c'mon!!!" feeling after seeing 50-75 unpopped kernels at the bottom of the bag.
Note: This product is not part of NutriSystem Nourish, the new Glycemic Index program.
Mini Pretzel Twists
They say: Crisp, filling pretzel twists.
I say: Filling is stretching it a bit, but while I'm not a pretzel fan, more a Cheddar Cheese Crunchy Curls sorta girl, these did hit the spot.
Note: This product is not part of NutriSystem Nourish, the new Glycemic Index program.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
They say: The All-American favorite, crisp bite-size cookies with real chocolate chips.
I say: Bite size indeed! If you chew slowly enough it makes them last longer. My bag had 8. I almost wished they put them together into one big cookie.
Note: This product is not part of NutriSystem Nourish, the new Glycemic Index program.
Cinnamon Raisin Bagel Chips
They say: Thin slices of cinnamon raisin bagels toasted to add crunch.
I say: The first thing I noticed was the toastiness. A slight taste of sugar and cinnamon. It was filling, about a handful in all and I wondered what it would taste like in milk.
Note: This product is not part of NutriSystem Nourish, the new Glycemic Index program.
Italian Pasta Marinara
They say: A vegetarian combination of macaroni, zucchini and red bell peppers in a flavorful tomato sauce.
I say: Very very filling. Chunks of vegetables just like those zucchinis shown in the picture and lots of pasta. Only negative thing is that the pasta has hole at either end, like a straw, so it's not slurpable like spaghetti. The tomato sauce is very tangy and thick.
Note: This product is not part of NutriSystem Nourish, the new Glycemic Index program.
Beans and Ham Soup
They say: With white beans and real pieces of ham, this soup has a homestyle flavor you'll love.
I say: Lots of beans with 7 gms of fiber, not bad at all. The look of the sauce briefly scared me, but this was very tasty. Sort of like if pork & beans was made into a soup.
BBQ Beef with Potato Wedges
They say: Grill-flavored beef chunks and potatoes seasoned with brown sugar and spices.
I say: Up till I took the last bite, I was about to rate this a 3-star meal. But I bumped it up a notch. It's definitely tasty, lots of BBQ flavor. But I thought it was tooooo thick. It reminds me of a chopped BBQ sandwich common in the south. It reminds me of a chopped bbq sandwich common in the south. It doesn't come with those veggies in the picture. I was actually grateful to dump my veggies in it to loosen it up a bit.

Spaghetti with Meatballs
They say: Delicate tiny meatballs combined with spaghetti in a thick tomato sauce.
I say: The bad news? The meatballs are way smaller than in the picture. The good new? There's LOTS of them with a yummy sauce and pasta too.
Note: This is a NutriSystem Classics meal. (These favorites fit into your meal plan's caloric recommendation and may be selected as part of your NutriSystem program; however, they are not low-glycemic items.)
Fillet of Fish with Beurre Blanc and Wild Rice
They say: Indulge in this flaky, white Alaskan Pollock served in a light and flavorful lemon-butter sauce with long-grain wild rice.
I say: Very strong fish smell, not in a bad way, just strong. I was very surprised to find fish as a choice and happy for the variety. Pretty good. The butter sauce was nicely seasoning, but the wild rice could have been firmer.
Tex-Mex Rice and Beans
They say: With a combination of sweet red peppers, spicy chili powder, red beans and rice, this lunch is a healthy way to get a little zip into your diet.
I say: Now how could they forget the corn? It made the meal what it is. Pretty darn good. Slightly spicy with a tangy tomato paste sauce.
Chicken with Almonds, Rice and Vegetables
They say: With chicken and real almonds in a tangy tamari sauce served over tender, healthy brown rice, it's the perfect tasty meal.
I say: This was really good, reminded me of Chinese Food I love so much. Quite a few chunks of chicken and I was happy to see lots of brown rice and almond slivers. I found the sauce to be more sweet than tangy and very very yummy.
Updated 12/2006 NEW RECIPE! This may just remind you of dinner at your favorite Chinese restaurant. A great-tasting entrée combining tender chicken with brown rice, perfectly cooked vegetables and almonds in a savory, delicious Oriental-style sauce. An entrée that's take-out good and microwave easy.
Vegetarian Pasta Salad
They say: Red bell peppers, kidney beans, corn, black olives and Romano cheese make our vegetarian pasta salad hearty and healthy.
I say: Note to self, read the instructions on EVERYTHING. As I was getting my foods ready to pop in the microwave I skimmed the instructions to find: Serve Cold. I had no backup meals with me. What to do what to do? I was too hungry to attempt to force it cold by putting it in the freezer for an hour.
I decided to nuke it for about 1 minute. Not to make it hot, just to warm it up from room temperature. Besides it's beans, olives, corn and pasta. I've eaten those things warm before, I can do it again. So this is really a non-review. I ended up really liking it. But to be fair I'll need to re-review it cold.
Beef Stroganoff with Noodles
They say: Our combination of whole egg noodles, beef chunks, red bell peppers and mushrooms in a rich stroganoff sauce is now a healthy favorite.
I say: I didn't see much red bell peppers in this but it didn't matter it was still very good. The sauce was rich and creamy and a decent portion of noodles.
Updated 12/2006 NEW NAME! Stroganoff Sauce with Beef and Noodles and NEW RECIPE! Give dinner a little flair! It's the sauce that makes the difference in this classic favorite: rich sour cream and a hint of wine add a depth of flavor. Tender beef combines with mushrooms, carrots and thick egg noodles in the smooth-as-silk sauce for a sophisticated entrée that's as substantial as it is elegant. Who says you have to sacrifice flavor to lose weight?
NutriFrosted Crunch Cereal
They say: Made with whole grain oat flour, these frosted flakes give you great taste and good nutrition.
I say: Note the phrase "frosted flakes", yup that's what they taste like. Though not as sweet and you don't see hug gobs of sugar crusted over each flake.
Fettuccini Alfredo with Vegetables and Mushrooms
They say: You won't believe the taste of these firm fettuccini noodles covered in creamy alfredo sauce.
I say: Well I put in the amount of water and let it sit as instructed but it still came out a tad too soupy. Good thing I complement all lunch with two cups of mixed vegetables. It certainly absorbed the excess liquids. The noodles softened up nicely. I was expecting a creamier sauce. Next time I'll use 1/2 soy milk & 1/2 water.
Updated 12/2006 NEW RECIPE! This is comfort food with style. As soon as you see the wonderfully-creamy sauce, you know you're in for a flavor treat. This Italian-inspired pasta brings you the richness of four cheeses along with a confetti of mushrooms and other vegetable favorites for more color and flavor. Add tender fettuccini noodles, and you have a decadent, delicious lunch. Did you ever imagine you could eat food this rich and still lose weight?
Lowfat Granola Cereal
They say: We've got great-tasting granola without fat, a great high-energy breakfast choice.
I say: I warmed this up in the microwave and it was pretty good. I was tempted to add sugar, well Splenda actually, but the Vanilla Soy Milk made it naturally sweet.

Spicy Oriental Style Chicken with Rice
They say: You'll consider this dish a new favorite with its combination of brown and white rice, meaty chicken and fresh vegetables.
I say: Don't let the initial smell when you open is scare you. It smells nice and chickeny when cooked. Despite it's name, I found the Pasta with Beef way more spicy than this. Lotsa chicken chunks and a slightly sweet sauce. Almost like duck sauce. The mushrooms and water chestnuts made it seem very authentic. I admit I scraped the bowl clean!
Pasta with Beef
They say: A healthy combination of fresh beef and pasta make up this house favorite.
I say: Oodles & oodles of noodles fill the bowl to the brim. Little marble sized meatballs and thick flavorful sauce makes it very filling meal.
Cranberry Granola Bar
They say: With rolled oats, honey and real cranberries in every bar, this breakfast gives you the energy to get through any morning.
I say: Bits of dried cranberries gave it a nice tangy mouth watering taste. Would go nice with a side of yogurt. Soft and chewy.
NutriCinnamon Squares Cereal
They say: You're sure to enjoy this crunchy, sweet cereal that gets its flavor from real cinnamon.
I say: Doesn't come in it's own bowl, but I found out today the pouch can serve as one in a pinch. Very, very crunchy. A slight mix of flakes and granola bits. Just sweet enough and yes you can taste the cinnamon.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert Bar
They say: Double your pleasure with two great tastes, in one delicious dessert bar.
I say: Don't let the word dessert fool ya, it's a granola bar with a smear of peanut butter on the top and it totally takes the edge off a chocolate craving.
Updated 12/2006 NEW RECIPE! Chocolate and peanut butter fused into one delectable dessert bar that's almost too good to be true. Its peanut buttery crunchies over a thick layer of chocolate are double delicious!
NutriCoconut O's Cereal
They say: The whole-wheat flour makes them healthy, and the real coconut makes them taste fantastic.
I say: Coconut in cereal? Who'da thunk it? A mix of flakes and O shaped oats. Very crunchy. Can withstand sitting in soy milk as I type this. Nice. Doesn't come in it's own bowl like Mini Frosted Shredded Wheat Cereal, Frosted Oats Cereal & NutriFlakes Cereal - 40% Bran Cereal.
Scrambled Eggs with Peppers and Mushrooms
They say: Enjoy these scrambled eggs with vegetables alone or use them as the foundation for a perfect morning omelet.
I say: After about a week of cold cereals this was a nice surprise. The portion in the picture is about right, it's HUGE. I was able to fill up a pita-styled bread and still have 1/2 left over. Flavor and consistency were fine, though it tasted better with the bread than alone. A slice of fat free cheese should add nicely to the omelety flavor.
Mini Frosted Shredded Wheat Cereal
They say: We've got the naturally sweetest way to get the benefits of whole wheat.
I say: I really really liked these. Next week I'm going to look for a more filling fruit to top off my cereals with. 1/2 a banana is one serving whereas I can get an entire cup of berries. Variety is the spice to my life. So far all the cereals got soggy pretty quick. Quick like before I can finish adding the banana to it. But either they are very tasty or it's the vanilla soy milk because I really haven't minded.
BBQ Soy Chips
They say: These tangy barbecue-flavored soy chips are a long-time favorite sure to hit the spot.
I say: Yea, I'm totally digging the soy chips, hence two in one day. Ohhh I'm so bad. I like the apple one better cuz it was sweet, but these had nice flavorings.
Blueberry Lemon Dessert Bar
They say: We've blended the sweet taste of real blueberries with a creamy yogurt coating to make this a healthy evening snack.
I say: Interesting concoction. The coating is iced and if you chew really slow while eating, it can hit the spot.
Updated 12/2006 NEW RECIPE! This is the treat to reach for when you're in the mood for something sweet, fruity and flavorful! Sweetened crispies are topped with a thick layer of real blueberry puree, then infused with the fresh flavor of lemon. The whole bar is then coated with a creamy vanilla frosting. A yummy, satisfying treat!
Frosted Oats Cereal
They say: These naturally flavored frosted oat Os give you a sweet breakfast treat without all the sugar.
I say: Look Ma, Cheerios! LoL. Tasty. Had it with bananas.
NutriFlakes Cereal - 40% Bran Cereal
They say: NutriBran Flakes give you all the health benefits of bran with a taste and crunch you'll love.
I say: While it sogged up a bit under my vanilla soy milk, it was tasty. Sorta like Raisin Bran w/o the raisins. Since this week's breakfast fruit was banana, next week I'm trying it with berries.
Tuna Salad
They say: A great source of protein, our premixed tuna salad makes for a simple lunch that prepares anywhere in minutes.
I say: I'm not a whiz when it comes to making tuna. And after eating it raw, when I tried Body for Life 2 years ago, I've come to view it purely as human cat food. Me-OW. So my taste buds have extremely low expectations for all things fishy. This however was pretty good. Tuna connoisseurs may disagree, but hey it works for me.
