Chicken Noodle Soup

Category Three Stars, Lunch

Chicken Noodle Soup They say: Tender noodles and real chicken make this soup a perfect mid-day choice.

I say: It just occurred to me what's been missing from most of these foods. Salt. I was prepping myself to taste something like Campbell's soup, but noticed this one didn't have the zing. I just checked and for this 7.5 oz bowl there are 520mg of sodium. A 10 oz can of Campbell's is 2290mg. That being said, this was just perfect for dinner.

Updated 12/2006 NEW RECIPE! Everybody's lunch favorite! A traditional, all-time favorite with delicious, homestyle taste. Tender chicken is combined with broad, curly noodles in a flavorful chicken stock. Add peas, carrots, other vegetables and seasonings, and you've got a soup that's so satisfying and good you'd swear it was homemade.

This was my first lunch. I thought it needed ... something. Salt? I added just a touch of Essence (sp?) and it helped. I'm interested in seeing how others dress this up.

salt is something i used to be addicted to until i found out my body does not like salt. when i eat too much, my stomach blows up and i cramp like i have gas, but i dont. anyway, i stopped using it almost completely (before this diet). so now, all this food taste great or too salty to me. if you have to have salt, add nusalt. i thought this soup tasted great.

Absolutely WONDERFUL. One of my favorite lunches.

Great lunch for a cold day - lots of noodles - like the bottom of a regular bowl of Campbells soup. I didn't miss the salt at all.

I love this soup, but I have to take precautions when cooking it at work. We have commercial grade microwaves and if I cook it in the original container it usually jumps a few times, knocks itself over and spills. It is almost like it is committing suicide. Now I just put it in a covered bowl to cook.

Loved this!!
I'm a salt-aholic so I added some garlic pepper and it was wonderful.

Hi!

I also love this for lunch. Chock full of chicken and noodles and carrots. Nice taste...maybe a little pepper would be good.

I thought this was pretty good. I put a slice of FF cheese in and that made it a bit more creamy

I like it-a mainstay-much improvement over the old chicken noodle soup

I had this for the first time the other day and really enjoyed it.
Your taste buds get used to less salt so I don't find the need to spice it up.

This was my first NS lunch. I thought it was ok....needed salt (I don't usually add salt to anything, so it probably needed a LOT of salt.) I'd eat it again.

I like this lunch, but would like to see the noodles a little fatter. I'm a huge noodle fan. Still the flavor is pretty decent.

I like it, don't love it. I ended up with about 20 of these because a friend of mine who did this for two days gave me her leftover food. She really liked chicken soup and I think that is all she ordered for lunch. I tried to pawn one off on my daughter and she refused to eat it. Ah well I guess I will just have to eat chicken noodle every few days. LOL

But seriously I would never order soup when there are so many more satisfying things to get rather than a bland cup o soup.

Yeah, this one was kind of flavorless, but would reorder if something else was worse. :p

Well, as I am learning with some of these foods, the initial look is kinda of a turnoff. So, I doctored this up before eating. I simmered thyme, carrots, onions, celery and brocoli in some chicken broth and then added this soup - which held the shape of the container for some time.... And it was good.

I don't know if I could eat this right out of the container. Because I love soup, I would order again (and add my own ingrediants).
