Beans and Ham Soup

Category Four Stars, Lunch

Beans and Ham Soup They say: With white beans and real pieces of ham, this soup has a homestyle flavor you'll love.

I say: Lots of beans with 7 gms of fiber, not bad at all. The look of the sauce briefly scared me, but this was very tasty. Sort of like if pork & beans was made into a soup.

I thought this one was OK but a little bland. I added seasoning, ham for protein serving and celery/onion. Then it was better.

A dash of cayenne pepper perked this right up! I liked it.

I absolutely love the Bean and Ham soup. It's fabulous. To spice it up a bit I add about 3-4 drops of tobasco sauce. Yummy!

01.05.05 | BRGG commented:

Love it! I add tabasco.

Never ordered this one... it seems one of those things I wouldn't eat the non-diet version of.

I love this!! One of my favorite lunches!!!

01.05.05 | LoserMom commented:

LOVE it!!! Warm and filling!

01.05.05 | Sheila commented:

I think this one is OK. It does need a little zing - but palatable and good on a cold day (like the one we're having in Dallas today)

01.05.05 | Patti commented:

Although the portion is small, I do like this very much...great flavor.

01.05.05 | Michelle commented:

I really like this one. It's very hearty without being meat heavy. A good comfort food on a cold day.

I waited to try this one and I wish I would have been brave and done it sooner because I really enjoy it!

I love it! I just ordered a bunch more

I love bean soup and this is very good. Just needed a little added salt.

I didn't like this one. I returned it and asked to exchange for something else.

I've been afraid to try this one, but with all the rave reviews I think I might try it in next month's autoship.

01.05.05 | ActiveGranny commented:

This is one I really like, as long as I get it hot enough. If just warm, then it seems to have a coating on it or something.

01.05.05 | delen35 commented:

I enjoy this lunch every once in a while.

I didn't expect to like this one and so I didn't even try it for several months. I love it! It is a really nice, warm, filling lunch.

The only thing I dislike about it, and all of the canned lunches, is how impossible it is to open those cans without spraying food everywhere!! LOL

I liked this one. It looked scary but when I tasted it, it wasn't bad. I'm going to try the suggestion of tabasco!

Two thumbs up!

01.13.05 | JD commented:

It's ok if you a big beans fan like I am. I reduced it from 2 down to 1 on my autoship.

01.24.05 | Michelle commented:

This is my favorite lunch so far. I don't understand people saying that it needed salt though. I am a salt-ahalic. I make my food crunchy I add so much salt. I have not salted anything on the NS plan (been on for one whole week ) and don't feel neglected at all.

02.15.05 | happyloser225 commented:

This is one of my favs, too!

02.15.05 | purdiegurlie commented:

Not my favorite. It's kind of watery, and it's not as filling as the other lunch entrees.

02.15.05 | JD commented:

I'll second that.

04.08.05 | Brenda commented:

I really like this one, but I have always liked bean and ham soup.

07.11.05 | attempt93 commented:

Really enjoyed this. Combined with a salad it was very filling. I always eat beans with Tobasco and sliced onion. This will be a reorder.

08.07.05 | Lisa commented:

This is the first NS food that I have pitched. There were way too many beans. If you like beans it maybe for you, but I just drank the liquid part of it and pitched the rest.

I love ham and bean soup. I was very surprised that it was so good. I put a fair amount of pepper in it.

01.13.06 | Laurie commented:

Didn't like this one much, bland ,and I'm a big fan of beans.

01.24.06 | Nancy commented:

I thought this was very good!

05.04.06 | Lena commented:

Very filling. The pork is like bacon bits, but decent.

05.15.06 | Oneida commented:

I really liked this soup. It is like a comfort food, and the beans keep you full for longer. I ordered more of these! The Pasta with Beef is a fave too, and really convienient since i dont have to add hot water. Quite a timesaver for a busy teacher with hardly any lunchbreak.

06.02.06 | Rhonda commented:

it was pretty good.

10.03.06 | Nan commented:

I liked it. There was a faint taste that reminded me of pork and beans, very faint mind you, but it was good.

HELLO, I TRIED NS LAST YEAR AND ENDED UP TURNING IT BACK IN AS THE TASTE OF MANY THINGS WHERE NOT GOOD TO ME AND THE MONEY I WAS SPENDING WAS BEING THROWN AWAY, BUT I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HOW YOU ARE ALL INDIVIDUALLY DOING ON THE PROGRAM, I NEED TO DO SOMETHING AND I AM TRYING TO FIND A GOOD PROGRAM THAT WORKS, YOU ALWAYS SEE THE SUCCESS STORIES BUT NEVER KNOW HOW LONG AND HOW MUCH MONEY IT TOOK TO LOSE 30 POUNDS. IS IT WORTH IT?????
